Levinas's discussion on conscience, the goodness of the psyche is very original. He explains that psyche is otherwise than reason, and body and psyche doesn't belong to only individual, but way to the Other and for the Other. Furthermore, he explains that the goodness of human beings is embodied in communication and communion with the Other. In the western traditional gnoseologique, sensation is regarded as receive organ for inner constitution following to cognitive schema. But Levinas argues that the human beings as the subjectivity of sensibility based on the body is exposed to the Other and is situated in the better and bigger composition with the Other. In other words, the corperial schema is not limited to only ego but connected to the higher plot, i.e. the Other. The passivity of the subject which is exposed to the Other force to prohibit to hide in inner self and to face the assignation of the Other. The responsibility of the subject which is responsible to the Other' suffering not caused of me. Like this, the condition with the Other, it is explained as the goodness of psyche by Levinas.

마음의 선함, 즉 양심에 관한 레비나스의 논의는 매우 독창적이다. 그는 인간의 마음을 이성과는 다른 작용으로 보았으며, 몸과 마음 자체도 단순히 사적인 것이 아니라 타자에게로 연결되는 통로 이자 타자를 위한 것일 수 있음을 보여주고 있다. 그리고 인간의 선함은 바로 타자와의 소통과 교류 속에서 구현됨을 해명한다. 전통적인 인식형이상학에서 감관은 이론적 인식도식에 따라서 내재적으로 구성되는 한에서만 의미를 지니게 되고, 감성은 감관에 의해 받아들이는 역할로 축약되어졌다. 그러나 레비나스는 몸적 존재에 기반을 둔 감성적 주체성의 인간은 타자에로 개시되고 묶이는 더 큰 구도 속에 위치한 존재로 보고 있다. 즉 신체성의 스키마는 단지 자기에로만 한정되는 것이 아니라 더 높은 구도 즉 타자에로 연결되는 것이다. 타자에로 노출된 감성적 주체의 수동성은 주체를 타자에게로 제시하며, 이로써 더 이상 자신을 은폐시키지 못하며, 타자의 얼굴로부터 오는 소환에 직면하게 된다. 타자로부터 오는 요청 앞에 세워지는 주체의 책임성은 나로 말미암지 않은 타자의 고통에 대해서까지 책임을 지는 구도이다. 이
렇게 타자를 품고 있는 상태를 레비나스는 인간 푸쉬케의 선한 상태로 설명한다.
