This study analyzes the determining factors of satisfaction of adult students and how much they are related to both the quality of education service (supplier) and the motive of the students (consumer), based on current adult students. The result showed, firstly, that both internal and external motives to study were significant to have positive effect on satisfaction of learners (which was contrary to a domestic research carried out previously. It was rather close to a foreign research which concluded that the internal motive had a much greater influence than external motive). Second, the quality of education service seemed to have a good effect on satisfaction level of study to prove that some important elements of education service such as materiality, reaction, certainty and sympathy all exerted a positive effect on satisfaction level of study under the significance level of 1%. Third, the result obtained from the analysis both students’ (the suppliers) and education service providers’ perspectives on how they influence on the satisfaction of study indicated that, except for external motivation, all other factors including internal motive, sympathy, reaction, certainty and materiality had a positive effect on learner’s satisfaction. In conclusion, schools should develop and support educational policy in particular, to attract student’s attention and interest based on the result of the analysis. Thus, the significance of this thesis is great since it examined the effect on learner’s satisfaction carefully in terms of their motives as the consumers’ and the quality of education service providers as the suppliers’ viewpoint, respectively.

본 연구에서는 성인학습자의 학습만족에 대한 결정요인을 도출함에 있어 수요와 공급의 측면을 모두 고려해, 공급자인 학교기관이 제공하는 교육서비스의 품질과 이의 수요자인 학습자의 학습동기가 학습만족도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 성인학습자를 대상으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과 첫째, 학습동기로 내재적 학습동기와 외재적 학습동기가 학습자 만족에 각각 유의미하면서도 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 외재적 동기가 내재 적 동기보다 학습자 만족에 많은 영향을 미친다고 본 기존의 국내 선행연구와 달리 내재적 동기가 외재적 동기보다 훨씬 더 영향을 많이 미치는 것으로 외국의 선행연구 결과와 유사하게 나타났다. 둘째, 교육서비스의 품질이 학습만족에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타남으로써 교육서비스의 품질이라 할 수 있는 유형성, 반응성, 확실성, 공 감성이 학습만족에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며 주관적 감정과 관련 된 반응성, 확실성, 공감성이 물리적 환경요소인 유형성보다 높게 나타났다. 마지막으 로 성인학습자의 수요적 관점의 학습동기와 학교 측의 공급자적 관점인 교육서비스 를 동시에 고려하여 학습만족에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과 외재적 동기를 제외한 내재적 동기, 공감성, 반응성, 확실성, 유형성이 학습자 만족에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 결론적으로 교육서비스의 품질이 학습동기인 내재적 동기에 비해 학습만족에 많은 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 이는 공급자인 학교의 교육서비스 품질 제고가 학습만족도를 제고하는데 중요한 역할을 하게 됨을 의미한다.
