Based on the software quality evaluation framework, this study examines determinants affecting user satisfaction of a learning management system, which is a versatile web-based educational tool. In particular, we explore five quality attributes (capability, usability, performance, reliability, and documentation) of a learning management system in both the PC context and the smartphone context. A data from a survey with 213 students was analyzed by an ordered logit regression. The findings show that in the PC context, capability, usability, and reliability significantly affect user satisfaction, and usability has the greatest influence; in the smartphone setting, performance as well as the three dimensions has significant influence on user satisfaction, and usability and reliability have strong influence. Documentation has no significant impact on user satisfaction of learning management systems in both contexts.
