Most studies of the adoption of information technology (IT) in work settings have investigated the evaluation of system design focused on usability to improve task performance. However, the use of IT nowadays has shifted from maximizing work efficiency within organizations to achieving various purposes in our everyday lives. This expansion of IT use has amplified the need to satisfy the demands of diverse user groups. In many industries, visual design is increasingly growing in importance in consumers’decision making. As products with superior design have a competitive advantage in the market, the importance of design also expanded to IT field. From this perspective, this study focuses on the impact of visual design through aesthetic emotional responses on other components of the system and IT adoption. The findings of this study are expected to extend our understanding of IT adoption.
