The purpose of this study is to compose peace education teaching & learning system being taught in reality. The writer's composition of peace education teaching & learning system is as follows. Peace education keep diversity, universality, practice-oriented character, social reform-oriented character, value educational character, politic educational character, and interdisciplinary character. The goal of peace education is to cultivate critical awareness on the non-peaceful reality, to cultivate sensibility for peace, and to acquire pattern of peaceful behavior. Peace education's teaching & learning contents based on Korean contexts include peace concept, and issues such as war, nuclear weapons, unification, human right, conflict, multicultural society, globalization and development, and environment. Peace education's teaching & learning directions include making peaceful class atmosphere, employing a program matching to learners' developmental stage, and encouraging to have practical hands-on experiences and critical thinking. The writer expect Peace education program to be practiced systematically in the school from this study.

이 논문은 현실에서 다양한 형태로 전개되고 있는 평화교육 프로그램과 평화교육 연구들을 검토하 여 평화교육의 성격, 목표, 내용, 지도방향 등으로 교수학습체계를 구성해 보는 데 목적이 있다. 연구 자가 구성해 본 평화교육의 교수학습체계는 다음과 같다. 평화교육은 다양성과 보편성, 실천 지향성, 사회변혁 지향성, 가치교육적 성격, 정치교육적 성격, 학제적 성격을 띠고 있다. 평화교육의 목표는 비 평화적 현실에 대한 비판의식과 평화 감수성을 형성하여 평화로운 행동 양식을 획득하도록 하는 데 있다. 한국사회에 적용가능한 평화교육의 교수학습 내용으로 평화 개념, 전쟁 문제, 핵문제, 통일 문제, 인권 문제, 갈등 문제, 다문화 사회의 문제, 세계화와 개발 문제, 환경 문제 등을 들 수 있다. 교수학 습 지도방향으로는 평화로운 교실 분위기 속에서 학생들의 발달 단계에 맞는 프로그램을 적용하고 실 천을 몸소 체험하며 비판적 사고를 장려해야 함을 논하였다. 이 논문을 통해 학교 현장에서 평화교육 프로그램이 좀 더 체계적으로 이뤄질 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
