The purpose of this study is to examinee validity and differential item functioning from a measure of Raven's standard progressive matrices(SPM) using Rasch measurement model. To accomplish this goal, The SPM was administered to 84 undergraduate university students from several education classes at a large private university located in Seoul, Korea. Participants were given a consent form and a brief introduction to the goals of the study. The standard instructions were read aloud by the researcher. All participants completed the 36 items in its entirety. To provide evidence to support the validity of measures from SPM items, we used the dichotomous Rasch measurement model. The result show that item hierarchy laid out by 36 items seems to be matched well with those predicted from the theory. Further, none of the items exceeded infit and outfit MNSQ criteria. The reasons for the results were discussed and suggestions were made for future studies.

본 연구의 목적은 SPM검사의 한국판 표준화를 위한 기초연구로서 심리측정 이론의 하나 인 Rasch 측정모형을 적용하여 한국판 SPM검사문항의 신뢰도와 타당도를 분석한 다음에 차별기능 문항 분석(Differential Item Functioning)을 통해서 개별문항에 대한 남녀 간의 차이가 존재하는지를 파악하는데 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해서 서울시내에 위치한 C 대학교에서 교직과목을 수강하고 있는 대학생 84명을 대상으로 36개 문항으로 구성된 SPM 검사를 실시하였다. 분석결과를 제시하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, SPM검사의 전체 문항 내적 일관성 신뢰도는 .77로 비교적 양호한 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 36개 문항의 타당도를 검증하기 위해서 문항 적합도를 분석한 결과 전반적으로 모든 문항이 양호한 적합도 지수를 보이고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 자료에 대한 Rasch 측정모형의 적합도 분석결과 대부 분의 자료가 일차원성을 가정하는 Rasch 측정모형에 부합한 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 성별에 따라서 SPM검사의 문항 난이도가 차별적으로 기능하는지를 분석한 결과 통계적으로 의미 있는 문항의 난이도 차이를 보인 문항이 없는 것으로 나타났다.
