This study purposed to examine the structure and annotation methods of translated and annotated medical books, and to look for the direction of translations with notes. Korean-translated Medical books in the Chosun Dynasty contained both the original Chinese texts and Korean texts, but because they covered the symptoms and prescriptions of various diseases, it was not easy to understand the technical contents of Oriental medicine through the Korean linguistic approach alone. Therefore, the utility of translations with notes interpreting the original texts is higher when the books contain technical contents. Thus, this study examined existing medical books translated and annotated, looked for more efficient translation and annotation methods, and implemented a new translation and annotation method.

이 글은 언해 의서류의 역주서들을 대상으로 그 체재 및 역주 방법을 검 토하고, 역주서의 나아갈 방향을 모색하기 위한 것이다. 조선시대의 언해 의서들을 보면 한문 원문과 언해문이 실려 있지만 그 내 용이 주로 각종 병에 대한 증상 및 처방을 다루고 있어서 국어학적인 접근 만으로는 전문적인 한의학 내용들을 이해하기란 쉽지 않다. 그러므로 전문 적인 내용을 담고 있는 옛 문헌일수록 원전에 대한 번역 및 주석 작업이 이 루어진 역주서의 효용 가치는 더 크다고 할 수 있다. 따라서 이 글에서는 언해 의서류의 기존 역주서들을 살펴보고, 이를 바탕 으로 보다 효율적인 역주 방법을 모색하는 데 의의를 두고자 한다.
