This study is trying to find the moral education meaning of Jung yak-yong's thoughts. Jung yak-yong's thoughts began from criticism on confucian ideas. First, his observation of mankind features Guyn-Heyung meaning scale and Ga-Ak-Sung which means doing evil. The concept of Guyn-Heyung introduces that all responsibility of behavior attributes to the individual because the individual has the free will to choose their behavior and The concept of Ga-Ak-Sung best expresses Jung yak-yong's observation of mankind. Jung yak-yong acepted the theory that human nature is fundamentally good. but he thought that people can behave in an evil manner whenever people get a chance. Hence the core of Jung yak-yong's thoughts is that people don't behave in an evil manner. for this reason, Jung yak-yong introduced the concept of Sang-Jae meaning god. Sang-Jae consists of a character god and a regulatory god. the regulatory god of these has an ability of the surveillance and judgement. so a regulatory god praise or punish according to merits and demerits of a behavior. especially, an fear of a regulatory god's punishment is crucial factor regulating behaviors. therefore the moral education meaning of Jung yak-yong's thoughts can be summarized into realism, utilitarianism and activism.

이 연구는 정약용의 가악적 인간관이 지닌 도덕교육적 의미를 살펴보고자 하였다. 정약용의 사상은 성리학에 대한 비판에서 시작되었다. 그의 인간관은 권형과 가악성을 특징으로 한다. 권형은 인간의 행위가 자유의지에 따른 행동으로 모든 책임이 인간에게 있음을 강조하기 위해 도입한 개념이다. 가악성은 정약용의 인간관을 가장 잘 표현하는 개념으로, 정약용은 성선설을 받아들이고 있기는 하지만 인간을 언제든 악을 행할 수 있은 존재로 보았다. 이러한 가악적 인간관으로 인해 그의 도덕교육사상은 어떻게 하면 악을 행하지 않도록 하는가하는 것으로 모아진다. 정약용이 상제의 인격천과 규제천적 성격을 강조한 이유도 그의 가악적 인간관과 관계가 있다. 규제천은 가악적 인간을 감시하고 심판할 뿐만 아니라 행위의 공과에 따라 상벌을 내림으로써 행위를 규제한다. 특히 규제천이 내리는 벌에 대한 두려움은 중요한 행위규제 요인이다. 이러한 가악적 인간관에 토대를 둔 정약용 사상의 도덕교육적 의미는 부도덕한 현실을 인정한다는 점에서 현실주의이며, 상과 벌에 대한 기대를 반영한다는 점에서 공리주의 그리고 사회적 실천을 강조한다는 점에서 실천주의적 성격을 지닌다고 할 수 있다.
