The film ‘Antarctic Journal’ in which six members of the expeditionary party explore the Pole of Inaccessibility on the Antarctic is not a simple movie about exploration but a psychological movie about the archetype of human relationship, especially fatherson relationship. The expeditionary party happened on the picture diary ‘Antarctic Journal’. This diary written by English expedition eighty years ago made a prophecy about destiny of present Korean expedition. These plot call up psychic determinism of a basic hypothesis for psychoanalysis in which past memory explain present experience. Also fate of captain Choi and members following foretell of the diary is reminded of the relationship of father-son dyadic relationship void of mother. After captain Choi who was the embodiment of aggressive, harsh, and archaic father fought Min-Jae who was the teller and main character of the movie, he gave Min-Jae both carabiner and Emergency Located Transmitter which could save Min-Jae’s life. This plot means that archaic father who survive although attacked by his son could be transformed into oedipal father, who could be internalized into his son and become a benevolent part of superego in his son’s psychic structure.
