The Oral History methodology has been diversified and specialized since it was introduced and explored in Korea in the 1990s. It is very important that many institutes affiliated with the government or universities are collecting and producing oral histories and oral memories of many people. As a result, It is inevitable to build an integrated archive of oral history. However this is not a real goal for oral history studies, but just a condition. The real goal is to write people’s histories, which have been omitted or distorted by the established history. Oral history is to write history through collaboration between interviewees and oral historians and to compensate and substitute and subvert the established and documentary-oriented history written by power elites. So it shouldn’t at the stage of producing and consuming oral history only by the researcher, Instead it has to develop into writing mass history as a people’s history. This paper aims to analyze some articles of my own, using oral history methodology, and to propose a process and a method of writing a historical article as a kind of case study. Lastly it is to introduce problems awaiting to be solved for mass historical writing by oral history.

한국에서 구술사연구는 1990년대에는 탐색 과정을 가졌다면 2000년대에는 다양하게 분화 성장하고 있는 양상을 띠고 있다. 많은 연구기관에서 생산하고 있는 구술자료집이나 구술 자료의 수집과 채록은 대단히 중요하다. 그런 점에서 분산되어 있는 구술 기록들이 연 계되고, 통합될 수 있는 아카이브 구축은 너무도 중요하다. 그러나 그것은 구술사 쓰기를 위한 가능성일 뿐 그 자체가 구술사연구의 목적은 아니다. 구술사 속에서 과거 기록에서 배제되고 왜곡된 사람들이 살아나고 숨 쉬어야 한다. 또한 구 술사가 구술자와 연구자가 공유하는 글쓰기가 되고, 나아가 엘리트층의 기록의 역사를 보안 하고 대체할 수 있는 글쓰기가 되어야 한다. 그러기 위해서는 연구자만 생산하고 소비하는 글쓰기가 아니라, 대중과 함께하는 글쓰기로 발전되어야 한다. 구술사연구는 그 가능성을 내재하고 있다. 이 글에서는 글쓴이의 구술자료에 의한 글쓰기 사례를 분석하여 구술사 쓰기 과정과 방 법을 제시하고, 나아가 민중사로서의 대중적인 역사적 글쓰기를 위한 과제를 제시하고자 한다.
