According to the theory of voting behavior, voting decision is influenced by comparative feeling thermometer, candidates' qualities, comparative proximity to candidates' public policy issue or ideology stands, and regionalism. Research hypothesis are that electorate voting decision of Changwon-Eul district depends on comparative feeling thermometer to Assembly candidates, comparative candidates' qualities, comparative proximity to candidates' public policy issue or ideology stands, and regionalism, and that comparative feeling thermometer is influenced by comparative candidates' qualities, comparative proximity to candidates' public policy issue or ideology stands, and regionalism. As research methods, central tendancy, χ2, η(eta), and λ(lambda) are applied. Results are that comparative feeling thermometer to Assembly candidates and comparative candidates' qualities have almost the same impact on voting decision of Changwon-Eul district and affect it much more than proximity to candidates' public policy issue or ideology stands. The influence of voter's birth region on voting decision is limited. The number of rational voters has ascended in Changwon-Eul district from the 16th through 18th National Assembly elections.

이론에 의하면 국회의원 선거에서 유권자의 투표선택은 후보자 체감도, 후보자 자질 평가, 후보자의 정책공약, 지역감정에 영향을 받는다. 따라서 국회의원선거 창원을구에서 투표선택은 후보자에 대한 상대적 체감도, 후보자 자질에 대한 상대적 평가, 후보자 정책공약의 이념에 대한 상대적 거리감, 유권자의 출신지역이 영향을 주며, 다른 한편으로 후보자에 대한 상대적 체감도는 후보자 자질에 대한 상대적 평가, 후보자 정책공약의 이념에 대한 상대적 거리감, 유권자의 출신지역에 따라 변화한다는 가설을 설정한다. 연구방법은 독립변수가 투표선택에 미치는 영향력을 알아보기 위하여 χ2 검정과 연관성 분석(η와 λ)을 하였고, 독립변수와 후보자간 상대적 체감도간에 상관관계를 분석했다. 연구결과는 후보자간 상대적 자질평가가 후보자간 상대적 체감도와 비슷한 수준으로 창원을구 국회의원 후보자 투표선택에 가장 많은 영향을 주며, 후보자간의 정책공약 이념에 대한 상대적 거리감은 앞에 언급된 두 요인 보다는 투표선택에 영향을 적게 주고, 유권자의 출생지역에 따른 지역주의는 영향력이 아주 적거나 거의 없는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 16대, 17대와 18대 총선을 거치면서 유권자들이 보다 합리적인 요인인 후보자 자질과 후보자 정책공약에 대한 상대적인 거리감을 인지하는 유권자가 늘어나고 있다.
