The various style of pottery and porcelain in Vietnam, Thailand in the Southeastern regions were made from the early times. These pottery and porcelain of Southeast Asian regions was influenced by that of Tang, Song, Yuan and Ming Dynasty in China. Vietnamese ash glazed pottery was produced under the influence of Celadon of Han Dynasty in China. and The Celadon of Vietnam was made under the influence of Yue Celadon of Tang Dynasty and Yoju Celadon of Song Dansty. and The Vietnamese Blue and White Porcelain and Colored Porcelain was manufactured under the Influence of the Blue and White Porcelain of the Yuan and the Overglaze Polychrome Enamel Porcelain of Ming Period in China. The Celadon of Thailand was made by the model of Yongchen Celadon of Yuan and Ming Period and was exported to the regions of East and West Asia. and As Ayutthaya made developments to its traditional Crafts in the 17th century, Overglaze Polychrome Enamel Porcelain with a Thai Decoration was ordered to Jinderzen, Gangxi, China and as a results, Thai style porcelain was produced during this period. A Research on the pottery and porcelain of Southeast Asia made under the influence of Chinese Porcelain is very important to understand the Culture of Southeast Asia. In future, the understanding of the selective reception of Chinese culture and civilization will have a crucial role in understanding Korean culture and its development situated near to China.

동남아시아지역에는 베트남을 비롯하여 타이, 크메르, 미얀마등에서 제작된 다양한 도자기가 전해져 오고 있다. 이러한 도자기는 그 형성과 발전과정에서 중국 한대, 위진남북조, 당, 송, 원, 명, 청대의 도자기로부터 많은 영향을 받게 된다. 베트남에서는 한대의 청자의 영향을 받아 회유도기를 제작하고, 당, 송대의 월주요청자와 요주요청자의 영향을 받아 청자를 생산하기에 이른다. 그리고 베트남 청화백자와 색회자기 역시 원, 명대의 청화백자와 색회자기를 모델로 제작된다. 타이에서는 14세기후반 용천요청자를 모델로 청자를 양산하여 동아시아의 일본과 서아시아의 중동지역까지 수출한다. 그리고 17세기에 이르러, 야유타야가 융성하면서 타이는 타이풍의 장식을 가진 색회자기를 중국 경덕진에 주문하기에 이른다. 이와같이 동남아시아지역에서 중국도자기의 영향을 받아 어떠한 도자문화를 창출했는가를 연구, 조사하는 것은 동남아시아의 지역에서 중국의 문화의 수용방식을 이해하는 주요부분이라고 할 수 있다. 그리고 이러한 연구는 중국 대륙과 연결된 한국 도자문화의 형성과 발전과정을 추적하는 중요한 열쇠가 될 것으로 생각된다.
