This paper is about research on tendencies of papers in ceramic study field in 2001-2009. Last decade has showed radical changes than any other past years, also in wide cultural areas including ceramics. Especially, Last decade also represents the eraof cultural industry and cultural contents. It changed social awareness on cultural areas as well as many views on various cultural fields based on expand of cultural industrialization. This research has analyzed academic journals and submitted dissertations of M.A., and Ph.D., on their research purposes and research patterns of papers on ceramic field. Articles which selected to be analyzed were 39 volumes of academic journals, 27 pieces of Ph.D. dissertations and 1025 pieces of M.A. dissertations. Result turned out that many of papers set their purpose mainly for artistic aims and this tendency showed more on PhDs and M.A dissertations. Research on study pattern also showed that M.A dissertationtends to concentrate on studying the types of ceramic art pieces. The result of this research is first, studies on the ceramic study tend to research ceramic pieces under artistic views. Second, the effort to keep the industrial objectives in ceramic field can be vitalized by viewing the field through cultural industry or cultural content views, linking ceramic field to other fields. Third, to activate this collaboration, education about methodologies in studies has to be supplemented. In conclusion, the biggest problem of studies and researches in ceramic study is that there was no change in the field. Ultimately, Ceramics has to develop the industrial needs but also answer to the change of the world and advance its strategy and vision to catch up the digital era.

본 연구는 2001년 이후 10년간 도자분야에 대한 연구 경향 파악을 목적으로 전개된 연구이다. 지난 10년은 과거 그 어느 때 보다 급격한 변화를 보였던 시기이며 도자분야를 포함하고 있는 문화분야 또한 광범위한 변화를 겪었던 시기라고 할 수 있다. 특히 문화산업과 문화콘텐 츠로 대변되는 지난 10년은 문화의 산업성의 확대를 기반으로 문화분야에 대한 사회적 인식 의 변화는 물론 문화 분야에 속한 각 부문들의 급속한 변화의 시기라고 할 수 있다. 본 연구 는 지난 10년간의 학술지 및 석·박사 논문을 분석, 도자 분야의 연구 목적과 연구 유형에 대 한 분석을 실시하였다. 분석 대상 논문은 학술지 39편, 박사논문 27편, 석사논문 1,025편 등 총 1,091 편이며 이를 통해 도자 연구의 흐름을 분석해 보았다. 분석 결과 도자 연구의 목적은 예술지향적 목적이 높은 것으로 나타났으며 특히 이러한 경향은 학술논문보다 석·박사 논문에 서 두드러지게 나타나고 있으며 연구 유형에서도 석사논문은 작품 유형의 연구 중심 경향을 1) 서울산업대학교 IT정책전문대학원 박사과정 / 경민대학 아동미술과 강사 보이고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이상과 같은 분석 결과 도자 분야의 연구는 첫째, 주로 예술지향적 목적하에 작품 연구의 유형을 가지고 있으며 둘째, 도자 분야의 산업지향적 목적성의 확 보는 도자 자체만의 노력 보다는 문화산업 또는 문화콘텐츠적 관점에 따른 타 분야와의 융합 적 관점의 연구를 통해 활발해 질 수 있고 셋째, 이러한 융합의 활성화를 위해서는 교육에 있어 연구 방법론에 대한 보완이 필요하다는 점이다. 결론적으로 볼 때 지난 10년간의 도자 분 야 연구에 있어 가장 큰 문제점은 변화가 없었다는 점이다. 도자 분야 또한 세상의 변화에 맞춰 일차적으로 산업적 적응도 확대라는 단기적 변화는 물론 궁극적으로 세상 변화의 중심축 인 디지털과의 적응이라는 변화를 위해 도자 연구 분야는 비젼과 전략을 확보해야 한다.
