This paper is a research about the Ekiben as one of Japanese traditional food culture. The Ekiben is formed in multi－disciplinary, the train trip and the catering industry. In the key words of the Ekiben, I was interested in particular about the relationship between JR and the Ekiben. And I analyzed it about a business activity and history of a company of JR Station Business Corporation mainly. As conclusions, JR Station Business Corporation is organized as Ekiben company members, and supported as part of the business in the JR Station, but there are no roles of making supervision or management of the Ekiben business. It is also easy to understand such situation from the history of the Ekiben company and the spread situation of the Shinkansen.

일본어

本稿では、日本の伝統的な食文化の一つとして駅弁を取り上げた。駅弁は、鉄道、旅行、外食産業の複合領域において成立する特徴を持つが、本稿では、駅弁のキーワードのなかで｢鉄道｣｢駅｣という交通機関に重点をおき、JR(国鉄)と駅弁との関係を主に検討した。分析内容としては、｢(社)日本鉄道構内営業中央会｣の活動状況と駅弁調製販売元の企業活動史に重点をおいた。 具体的な検討項目は、まず、構内営業を管轄し、駅弁の誕生、駅弁業者の取りまとめを行ってきた｢(社)日本鉄道構内営業中央会｣が、現代の駅弁営業にどのように関わっているのかについてみた。結果、 ｢中央会｣は、駅弁会社を会員として組織し、構内営業の一環として全国のJR駅での駅弁営業をサポートしているが、駅弁営業を総括する組織としての役割は担っていないと判断される。このような状況は新幹線の普及状況、駅弁会社の歴史からも確認できた。
