This study is an attempt to re-interpret the concept of family resilience referring to such attributes as familial characteristics and dimensions that help the families with disabled children with better adjustment in the face of crisis situation from the holistic perspective that values relationships and pursues balance, harmony, inclusiveness and integration. For the purpose of this study, hypotheses on the mediating effects of family resilience on changes in the causal relationship between parenting stress and efficacy of mothers with disabled children were tested to prove the usefulness of the concept of family resilience. Correlation analysis and structured equation model analysis on variables found that family resilience could serves as a significant variable influencing the parenting efficacy of mothers with disabled children directly and indirectly. The findings in the present study suggest that intervention plans to support families with disabled children should be developed from the perspective of the strength of family resilience, not from the perspective of personal defects to reduces stress and weaken maladjustment. The findings could make useful basic data for applying the holistic paradigm, which keeps a whole-part balance, to social welfare.

이 연구는 관계성을 중시하고 균형과 조화, 포괄과 통합성을 추구하는 홀리스틱 관점에서 위기적 상황에 직면한 장애아동 가족의 특성, 차원, 속성을 의미하는 가족탄력성의 효과를 알아보고 가족탄력성의 향상을 위하여 홀리스틱 교육과의 접목가능성을 탐색해 보고자 한다. 이를 위하여 장애아동 어머니의 양육스트레스와 양육효능감의 관계에서 가족탄력성의 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 변인들에 대한 상관분석과 구조방정식 모형분석 결과 가족탄력성은 장애아동 어머니의 양육효능감에 직․간접적으로 영향을 미치는 중요한 변인으로 적용할 수 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 결과는 장애아동 가족지원프로그램 수립 시, 양육스트레스를 감소시키고 부적응을 약화시키는 단순한 개별적 결점 관점에서 탈피하여 가족탄력성의 강점관점의 개입이 효과적일 것이라는 것을 시사하고 있다. 이는 곧 전체와 부분의 균형을 유지하려는 홀리스틱 페러다임이 사회복지적 실천에 하나의 유용한 지침이 될 수 있다고 사료된다.
