This study is aimed at developing programs for Hangeul education through dance (movement) so that people can get access to the Korean language in the easiest and most interesting way. Programs have been organized targeting elementary school students attending English-speaking international schools in Korea and those from multicultural families. For this study, I collected data regarding previous studies, such as ``Hangeul Dance’’, ``Lee, Sook-jae Art & Dance typography font’’ , DVD, photographs, image files and brochures. Processes for development of programs developed as follows. First, for the lesson contents of this study, I expressed consonants and vowels using ``Lee, Sook-jae Art & Dance typography font’’ with a human body and used storytelling techniques and music with the motif of ``Hangeul dance’’ works to generate familiarity toward Hangeul. I also used basic elements of Laban’s movement to organize lesson contents and then formed a 12-class lesson plan to apply to educational fields. Second, for teaching-learning strategies, I studied systematic and effective ways to apply the ARCS motivation model which can promote inter-group cooperative learning and students’ voluntary participation motivation to express words, as well as consonants and vowels, through the human body. Third, I established the concrete educational goals of Hangeul educational programs learned through dance (movement). The goals are cognitive, social, emotional and physical development. Fourth, for evaluation, I prepared learning performances from practical techniques by teachers’ observations, check lists and the ordinal scale using tools to assess knowledge of consonants and vowels and abilities with regard to Hangeul made by students, colleagues and teachers.

본 연구의 목적은 한국어를 가장 쉽고 재미있게 접근할 수 있도록 춤(움직임)을 통한 한글교육 프로그램을 개발하는 것이다. 연구대상은 외국인 학교(영어권) 및 다문화 가족 초등학생이며, 자료수집은 ‘한글춤’ 및 ‘이숙재아트춤체’ 관련 공연 DVD, 사진, 이미지 파일, 브로슈어 등과 교육프로그램 개발 선행연구 및 문헌자료를 활용하였다. 본 연구의 교육프로그램 개발과정을 다음과 같다. 첫째, 수업내용은 ‘이숙재 아트춤체’를 활용한 자모(자음, 모음)를 신체로 표현하고, ‘한글춤’ 작품을 모티브로 한 Story Telling 기법 및 음악을 활용하여 12차시 학습지도안을 구성하였다. 둘째, 교수-학습 전략은 신체를 통해 자음, 모음뿐 만아니라 단어를 표현하기 위해서 그룹간의 상호적인 협동학습과 학생들의 자발적인 참여동기를 촉진시킬 수 있는 ARCS동기모형을 체계적이고 효율적으로 적용할 수 있도록 연구하였다. 셋째, 교육 프로그램의 구체적인 교육목표를 인지, 사회, 정서, 신체적 영역으로 설정하였다. 네 번째, 평가는 교사의 관찰에 의한 실기 수행 학업성취도 및 학생동료평가와 교사가 함께 평가하는 자모지식 한글능력 평가도구를 활용하여 체크리스트, 서열척도 유형으로 구성하였다.
