The purpose of this study is to make clear on characteristic of teacher's culture of korea secondary school through comparison with teacher's culture of private secondary school and that of national and public secondary school through micro-macro point of view. For this purpose, I run parallel with written data analysis, participant observation and in-depth interview. The interview was carried out informal interview four times with informers standing on the non-structuralized descriptive questionnaire from September 1, 2009 to February 26, 2010. Participant observation was carried out 5th times informally. Target of study is a private high school which is located DaeJeon city. The findings of this research are as follows: Firstly, Because Teachers of the tentatively named 'Mirae High School' continues to work for the high school until he resigns from a high school, They have strong recognition on ownership of the school and exclusive individualism and They guide what to do with his life including career even after their
graduation. Secondly, Teachers thinks that teaching good character is a shell game because teachers recognizes that scholastic development of students is a real objective in the high school. Third, Teachers try to accommodate themselves to the direction of office of education rather then independence and particularity of private institution of learning. and They are not supposed to interfere what other teachers do saying that they develops peer culture by twos and threes between them. The proper interval being maintained between them, they are very defensive about school parents' relationship. Thus, This researcher think Teacher's culture is made up of individualism, high priority of scholastic development, adaptation, nonintervention, defensive attitude in common at the private secondary school and national and public secondary school.

본 연구의 목적은 사립 고등학교 교사문화의 특성을 밝혀 국․공립 중등학교 교사문화의 특성과 비교를 통해 한국 중등학교 교사문화의 특성을 밝히는데 있다. 연구대상은 대전광역시에 소재하고 있는 한 사립 고등학교이며, 자료 수집은 2009년 9월부터 2010년 2월까지 6개월 동안이다. 주요 연구방법은 심층면접과 참여관찰이다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 미래고등학교 교사들은 한 학교에 오래 근무한 관계로 학교에 대한 강한 주인의식과, 배타적이고 개인주의적 사고를 가지고 있으며, 졸업 후 까지 고려한 진로지도를 한다. 둘째, 교사들은 교실수업을 통한 학력신장이 실질적인 교육목표로 인성교육은 허울에 불과한 것으로 인식한다. 셋째, 교사들은 사학의 자주성과 특수성보다는 교육청 방침과 교장의 지시에 순응하는 행정지배 구조를 갖는다. 동료교사와의 관계는 끼리끼리 문화를 형성하면서도 간섭하지 않는 문화적 특징을 갖는다. 학부모와의 관계는 적당한 거리를 유지하는 방어적 태도를 보인 것으로 분석되었다. 이러한 미래고등학교 교사문화 특징을 국․공립 중등학교 교사문화와 비교해 보았을 때, 개인주의, 학력신장 우선주의, 순응적 행정지배 구조, 불간섭주의, 방어적 태도라는 공통된 문화적 특징을 가지고 있는 것으로 해석되었다.
