- This study explores the relations between how children angry emotional expressions are socialized through classroom emotional interactions and how angry emotional theme is depicted in children’s drawings. The assumption underlying in this inquiry is that emotion is not an individual behavior independent of social context. This study questions whether children would select expressive strategies carefully to depict angry experiences in drawings as they express anger. A qualitative research method, specifically ethnography, is employed and the data is collected from extended participant observation and interviews. The results show that children’s visual expressions including emotional aspects are also socialized as their emotional behaviors are. As children age, they learn what display rules are competent in their cultural context and express emotions, especial1y negative ones, in a culturally and situationally appropriate manner. The findings were that the child carefully selected each expressive strategy by considering its sociocultural meaning and function. Her previous emotional and drawing experiences were closely related to her decisions regarding what expressive strategies to use. The implications of this study wil1 assist art educators gain a more in-depth understanding of the complex mechanism of children' s drawing and the cultural influences they hold.

- 이 논문은 아동이 학습한 사회화된 부정적인 감정표현의 방식과 부정적 감정을 주제로 한 그림에서의 감정표현과의 관계에 대한 연구의 글이다. 초등학교 6학년 수지의 그림을 분석하기 위해 본 연구는 질적 연구 방법에서 사례 연구의 방법을 사용하였다. 특별히 수지 그림의 시각텍스트를 분석하기 위해，궐고 그 그림안에 내재된 문화적 연관성을 밝히기 위해 이 연구에서는 비판적인 시각적 연구방법을 사용하면서 두 번의 읽기가 시도되었다. 연구 결과 아동의 감정표현 방법이 사회화 되는 것과 같은 맥락에서， 감정적 측면을 포함한 아동의 시각 표현 역시 사회화된 표현 전략들이 선택되고 사용되고 있음이 파악하게 되었다. 본 연구결과는 또한 감정표현이 사회적 배경과 독립적으로 존재하는 개인적인 표현행위가 아님을 증명하고 있다. 아동은 성장하면서 그들이 살고 있는 사회와 문화 속에서 어떤 감정 표현방법이 효과적이며 성공적인 결과를 가져올 것인지를 지속적으로 학습한다. 특히 부정적인 감정의 경우， 표현 방법은 더욱 적극적으로 사회화의 과정을 거치는 것임을 드러내고 있다.

- 한국의 미술교육학계에는 과거 일본을 통해 왜곡되어 들어온 서양의 미술교육 이론이 정설로 자리잡힌 상태에서 서양의 새로운 미술교육 이론이 혼합되는 양상이 지속되고 있다. 그래서 효율적인 실제의 개발 또한 지극히 어려운 답보 상태에 머물러 있다. 따라서 미술교육의 학문적 발전을 이룩하기 위해서는 선진 세계의 이론을 정확하게 받아들여 이를 통해 한국의 실정에 맞게 변용해야 할 것이라는 판단하에 미술교육의 학문적 발전을 도모하기 위해 InSEA(International Society for Education through Art)의 한국지회를 설립하게되었다. InSEA는 UNESCO의 협력기구로 1954년 결성되어 현재 80여개국이 참여하고 있는 범세계적인 미술교육 단체로 미국 지회인 USSEA와 캐나다 지회인 CSEA를 두고 있다.
