he purpose of the study is to investigate the effects of Enneagram communication parents education program on their communication with the children, child rearing attitude, and self-esteem. Three questions of the study were selected to analyse the effects of Enneagram program as follows. 1) Is there any effects of ECPE(Enneagram communication parents education) on parents' communication with their children? 2) Is there any effects of ECPE on parents' child-rearing attitude change? 3) Is there any effects of ECPE on parents' self-esteem?
The ECPE program based on Enneagram for the self-analysis, understanding children, communication skill, phases of growth and cure was developed and administered for forty five applicants. They were chosen by the first come-first served method from the pool of public announce for H research society, FC activity hall members, and audience of my special lecture. They were randomly placed to three groups; one is experimental group and the other two are control groups, fifteen subjects of each group.
Their educational backgrounds are mostly graduated high school and college, and a few of them have masted degree of some area. All of them are female and have more than one child. Five of them have jobs in the Ulsan city.
The experimental program was administered by the one session of meeting, two hours for each session, and twelve weeks.
The research tools are the mainly psychological tests as follows; communication skill test, child-rearing questionnaire, and self-esteem test. Two kinds of programs were applied for the experimental group, one is Enneagram focused on self-analysis(understanding self), understanding children, communication skill, and phases of growth and cure, the other is ECPE. The control group was trained with the regular Enneagram program.
As shown in general experimental researches, the pre-and post tests were given to three groups and the data were analysed by the Tukey post-hoc statistics.
The results are positive and affirmative in general. In a word, ECPE were very effective on parents' communication with their children through the program training, for the more stimulating children's self-regulating habits.

본 연구는 에니어그램을 활용한 부모교육프로그램의 필요성과 프로그램의 개발, 그리고 그 효과에 관한 차이를 알아보아 에니어그램을 활용하여 부모교육의 방향을 모색하는 데 있다. 본 연구에 나타난 주요한 결과는 다음과 같다.
에니어그램을 활용한 의사소통 부모교육프로그램을 실시한 실험집단은 두 비교집단과의 비교에서 어머니와 자녀의 의사소통에서 유의미한 변화를 보였으며, 자녀의 양육태도에 있어서 하위영역인 애정적 태도와 자율적 태도, 양육태도의 전체 합계에서도 유의미한 변화를 보였다. 또한 에니어그램을 활용한 부모교육프로그램 활동에 참여하여 자기이해와 의사소통방법 및 치유와 성장의 단계별 과정에서 자신을 집단원들에게 표현함으로써 더 구체화되고 명료화되는 과정을 겪음으로써 자아존중감을 향상시킬 수 있다. 이는 어머니의 자아존중감을 증진시키기 위해 일반적으로 가장 많이 실시되고 있는 의사소통 위주의 소집단 부모교육프로그램 보다 에니어그램을 활용한 소집단 부모교육프로그램 참여의 중요성을 밝혀주었다고 할 수 있다.
