- In this study, I was investigated for the application of an Chrmaecyparis obtusa in Jeonnam which has been composed of various phytoncide compounds. I was tried antimicrobial test by disk method. Antimicrobial activities of the Chrmaecyparis obtusa essential oil in Jangseong, Jeonnam was compared with Citrus junos in Goheung and Chrmaecyparis obtusa water by 9 species of body flora. The antimicrobial potencies of Chrmaecyparis obtusa essential oil very higher than Citrus junos and Chrmaecyparis obtusa water with cultural bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Sarcina lutea, Staphylococcus saprophyticus, Escharichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, Proteus vulgaris, Proteus mirabilis, Candida albicans. It was concluded that antimicrobial activities of Chrmaecyparis obtusa essential oil which may be an effective functional cosmetic ingredient as acne, dandruff, atopy, natural
preservative, nail goods or food flavor or living goods such as detergent, toothpaste, soap etc.
