- This study aims to the analysis for the applications of CPTED in Urban Residential Neighborhood. By growing rate of an apartment complex in current cities, new type of crimes targeted at those are increasing. This research focused on the urban apartment complex and crime reduction through physical environmental control method such as CPTED. To prevent to crime in urban residential neighborhood, it searches for the elements and necessity of crime prevention and the way of planning safe space. They are based on analysing circumstances and conditions through the case studying of an apartment complex in Cheongju. Survey
methods conformed with six planning factors of CPTED - natural surveillance, natural access control, territoriality, legibility, activity support, maintenance and management.
The result of this study has implicated, increasing importance on daily safety issue in urban life and examining the possibility of applying crime prevention and reduction program and systems.
