- Recently, many people are concerned in high-rise buildings and BIM in Korea. In particular, characteristics of high-rise buildings like variability, complexity and free-form are being stressed gradually. Of them, an free-from of the building is in accordance with pluralistic needs of architects about a free-from, not a simple form based on the Euclid geometry. Most of existing researches don't provide application methodologies for creating a form using graphic tools, or examine the creation of a form and BIM separately. Thus, in this research, methodologie for creating a form based on graphic tools and BIM were integrated to apply them for a single
construction process. In this study, an IDM model that is automagically created through BIM tool was developed by applying a free-form creation process for the IPD phase to develop a IDM supporting methods to create a free form in the early design process. This performance will make a big contribution to improvement of traditional construction process using free forms by aggressively applying a BIM for the early design process of construction.
