The purpose of this study was to compare the difference in upper limb bone density between high school women soccer players and age-matched women students, and to identify the influence of regular exercise participation on the bone density in the non-predominant site. Subjects were divided into two groups. One was women soccer player group(n=25), and the other was control(n=25). Bone density was measured with Radio-Absorption method with roentgenogram, commercial scanner, and bone densitometry diagnosis software. As a results, BTI at radius in the women soccer player group was significantly higher than that in the control group(p<.001). And T-score and Z-score in the women soccer player group was also significantly higher than those in the control group(p<.001). In conclusion, bone density at the non-predominant site in athletes was also influenced by exercise. And it is suggested that intervention for the increase in the bone density and muscle strength at non-specific site in athletes should be introduced.
