The 2008 Ham-Pyeong World Butterfly and Insect Expo Korea (2008.4.18~2008.6.1) which is the research subject of this paper, is one of the well known local festivals representing Korea. This ecological festival focusing on butterflies, insects and flowers in the theme of nature and rural amenity has steadily contributed to the income improvement of the local economy by inducing tourists successfully. This paper aims to study the ripple effect of this event on the economy of Ham-Pyeong district in depth. In particular, the Location Quotient(LQ) method that has been broadly used in Korea in stead of adirect research method was adopted in this research to make anindustry-related model in the scope of local economy.

본 연구는 2008함평세계나비&곤충엑스포(2008년 4월 18일～ 6월 1일 45일간)가 함평군 지역경제에 가져온 파급효과를 분석하였다. 2008 함평나비축제는 나비와 곤충, 꽃, 자연을 소재로 한 환경생태 축제로서 농촌의 어메니티를 활용한 한국을 대표하는 가장 성공한 지자체 축제 중 하나로서 관광객을 성공적으로 유치하여 지방도시의 경제적 수입증대에 기여한 모범적인 사례이다. 특히 본 연구는 지역산업연관모형을 작성하기 위해 직접 조사방법의 대안으로 한국에서 널리 사용되고 있는 입지상계수법(LQ: Location Quotient Method)을 사용하였다
