Supply Chain Management of Food Service Business Adds Its Corporate Value and Customer Satisfaction : Expectation for Approach of Inbound Tourists

‘Locally Grown, Locally Produced’ is a popular key phrase which attracts quite a bit of interest in a viewpoint of sustainability. In Japan, we intend to activate the local products’ market. Government, Ministry of Agriculture Forestry and Fishery, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and other Ministries cooperate, backing-up related industries. The food service industry in particular has made some efforts to construct a supply chain with local producers as a strategy to differentiate their business from that of competitors. Adding value by using locally produced materials makes their food and concept more attractive and more original. This report mentions some of the work by major food service chain companies and young entrepreneurs. Their cooperation and communication with local producers was so interesting, and their customer satisfaction and their track records reflected their efforts. Some of these companies not only work with producers, but they also enter into agricultural production themselves. In addition, we cannot neglect the fact that these effects stimulate local producers’ motivation and may finally improve agriculture productivity. The output, their food and dining atmosphere are outstanding with various local colors, so they must fascinate many inbound tourists. The Japanese food industry market is shrinking on account of a decrease of its population, but the food service business is expected to grow as inbound tourism becomes more active.

본 학회는 2003년부터 동북아 경상연구회의 회원들을 중심으로 동북아 지역의 학회참석을 계기로 한중일 관광학회의 중요성을 인식하게 되었습니다. 특히 우리와 인접국인 일본, 중국의 동북아 지역은 관광인적교류에서 중요한 국가이며, 상대국 또한 그 중요성을 간과할 수 없는 현실입니다. 따라서 본 학회는 한중일 3국에 학회지부회를 두어 3국의 학자들을 중심으로 관광연구를 활성화하는데 있습니다. 본 학회의 사업내용을 보면, 첫째, 연2회 이상 학술발표회를 개최합니다. 특히, 학술발표회는 동북아지역의 인적교류확대방안, 동북아지역의 산관학의 협력강화방안에 관한 사업 내용을 중심으로 연구발표회를 개최합니다. 둘째, 동북아지역의 연구자들을 중심으로 한국어, 영어, 중국어, 일어를 사용한 동북아 관광연구저널을 연 2회 이상 발행하여 동북아지역의 국제저널로서의 위상정립을 합니다. 셋째, 한,중,일 우수연구자의 저서를 상대국언어로 번역출판하며 한,중,일 연구자들을 중심으로 전문저서를 공동저술 합니다.
