Voting and participation are the key components of democracy in modern democratic society. There are many motivation factors for voting and citizens' education is one of important motivation factors. In Sweden Studiesfubund and Folkhogskola are major institutions for citizens' education and democracy. They the citizens"f social commitment is considerable, particularly among the young. In an international comparison, participation in elections is still high. The number of youth organisations is growing. A large part of the population is still active n popular movements and other volunteer organisations.
