This is on study about the effect which to have a meeting with the students, who has escaped from North Korea, as an experience study produces on unification consciousness of (South Korea) students, namely unification necessity, the image about the North Korea residents and unifying conduct etc. According to this research, to have a meeting with the students who have escaped from North Korea brought many affirmative changes in unification consciousness of the South Korea students. First, before the meeting, only 46% of the South Korea students had an affirmative thought about the necessity of unification. However, after the meeting, 67% of the South Korea students has an affirmative thought about the necessity of unification. Second, in the image about the North Korea residents, The image which the South Korea students had about the North Korea residents before the education(meeting) was changed a lot. Especially, there was the biggest change in the cooperativeness. This means that the South Korea students feels that the North Korea residents are truthful and reliable. Finally, in unification conduct, the integrated accommodating which has a close relation to the South Korea students' gain and loss brought big change, but the change are not over the neutral point(the neutral point is 12 point, the change is 12.83 point). this shows that the South Korea students have more negative attitude than in the coexistence effort. This shows that the South Korea students are very sensitive to their own gain and loss. That is also an expected big problem after the unification

본 연구는 체험학습으로서 탈북학생들과의 만남이 고등학교 학생들의 통일의식, 즉 통일의 필요성, 북한 주민들에 대한 이미지 그리고 통일행동 등에 어떠한 영향을 미칠 것인지를 알아보기 위한 것이다. 연구 결과에 의하면 탈북학생들과의 만남은 학생들의 통일의식에 매우 긍정적 변화를 가져다 주었다. 먼저 통일의 필요성 측면에서 보면 만남 전에는 통일의 필요성에 대해 긍정적으로 생각하는 학생이 전체 학생의 46%로 절반을 넘지 못하였다. 하지만 만남 이후에 67%의 학생들이 통일의 필요성에 대해 긍정적으로 생각하게 되어 많은 변화가 나타났다. 다음은 북한주민들에 대한 이미지 변화인데, 교육 전에 자신들이 생각하고 있던 북한 주민들에 대한 생각에 많은 변화가 나타났다. 특히, 협조성 요인에서 가장 큰 변화가 있었는데, 이것은 학생들이 북한주민에 대해 진실되고, 신뢰할 만하다고 느끼게 되었음을 의미한다. 마지막은 통일행동에 대한 것으로 학생들이 자신들의 이해관계와 밀접한 관련이 있는 통합수용 요인의 경우, 많은 변화가 나타나기는 하였지만 공존노력 요인보다 부정적인 태도를 보여주었다. 이것은 학생들이 자신들의 이해관계에 매우 민감하다는 것을 보여주는 것이며, 통일이후에도 어려움이 예상되는 부분이기도 하다.
