This study was to examine the relationships of parental child-rearing attitude to elementary school student' teacher and peer relation. The subject of the study was 297 sixth graders(150 boys, 147 girls) sampled from elementary schools. Pearson's correlation coefficients were computed to test the relationships between variables of the study and possible multicollinearity problems among independent variables. A series of multiple regression analyses were used to test the relationships between parental child rearing attitude, elementary school student's peer relation, and teacher relation. Parental child-rearing attitude explained elementary school student's teacher relation more powerfully than peer relation. Father had positive effect on elementary school student's relation with peers when he was perceived intimate. Mother had negative effect on elementary school student's relation with peers when she was perceived stern one. On the other hand, Both father and mother had positive effect on elementary school student's relation with teachers when father and mother both perceived intimate and devoted to their child. Finally, elementary school student's peer relation showed partially positive and negative relationship with his or her relation with teachers. These findings were discussed for teachers and parents in terms of developing the effective parenting styles to facilitate elementary school student's school adaptations.

본 연구는 초등학생이 지각한 부모의 양육태도와 교우 및 교사와의 관계를 분석할 목적에서 수행되었다. 연구의 표집대상은 중부지역에 위치한 도시 및 농촌 지역 초등학교 6학년 297명이었으며, 이중 남학생은 150명, 여학생은 147명이었다. 부모의 양육태도와 교우 및 교사와의 관계를 검증하기 위해 Pearson의 상관분석과 중다회귀분석(Multiple Regression Analysis)을 실시하였다. 초등학생의 교우관계에 긍정적으로 작용하는 아버지의 양육태도는 친밀성이었으며, 어머니의 엄격성은 교우관계에 부정적으로 작용하는 것으로 나타났다. 한편 교사와의 관계에서 부와 모의 친밀요인과 헌신요인은 정적인 관련성을 보였다. 마지막으로 교우관계에 대한 교사관계의 관련성을 분석한 결과, 교우관계의 사교성, 교제의 지속성 요인은 교사와의 관계에 정적 관련성을 보였지만, 교우관계 적응도 요인은 교사와의 관계에 부적 관련성을 보여 대조적이었다. 교사관계에 대한 교우관계의 관련성을 분석한 결과, 교사의 이해공감요인은 교우관계에 정적 관련성을 보였지만, 교사와의 친밀성은 부적인 관련성을 보였다. 이상의 결과를 바탕으로 초등학생의 긍정적인 교우 및 교사와의 관계를 위한 바람직한 부모의 양육태도에 대한 논의가 이루어졌다.
