The aim of this study is to find out the improvement directions of student teaching in secondary schools.. To do so we carried out a survey targeting student teachers in secondary schools asking them about the recognition and self assessment after the student teaching. For this study we used questionnaires on student teaching of Educational Research Institute(2007) and the interns' self assessment table of the Korean society for the study of teacher education(2001).
The questionnaire is composed of 22 questions about the recognition of student teaching and 42questions in 11 areas of the self assessment. In this study we analysed the differences between groups in seven questions of the recognition and 11 territories of the self assessment.
The results show that the interns' score of the self assessment is on average 4.15 points on a 5 point Likert scale, which is fairly good. They received more than 4 points in most fields, but they got a lower score than the average in understanding and guiding students. They generally admitted the guidance is very difficult. Therefore teachers' training schools should include guidance in their curriculum and the schools which take practice teachers should release solutions for this.

이 연구는 2009학년도 중등교육실습생을 대상으로 교육실습에 대한 인식도와 교육실습 후 자기평정도 분석을 바탕으로 중등학교 교육실습의 개선점을 찾는데 있다. 연구에 사용된 조사지는 교육과학연구소(2007)의 교육실습실태조사와 한국교원교육학회(2001)의 교육실습생 자기평가표를 사용하였다. 설문 구성은 교육실습 인식에 관한 22문항과 자기평가 척도 11개 영역 42문항으로 구성되었다. 본 연구에서는 교육실습 관련 7문항과 자기평가 11개 영역에 대해 집단간 반응분포 및 차이를 분석하였다. 본 연구에 사용된 자기평가 척도의 신뢰계수는 .83이며, 영역별로는 .75~.91로 분포되어 있다. 본 연구결과 교육실습생의 자기평가 점수는 평균 4.15 수준(Likert 5점)으로 양호하였다. 대부분의 영역에서 4점 이상으로 나타났으나 학생 이해 및 생활지도에 있어서는 평균보다 낮았다. 교육실습에 대한 인식 조사에 있어서도 학생생활지도가 어려운 것으로 조사되었다. 따라서 교원양성기관에서는 교육과정을 통해 학생생활지도를 위한 프로그램이 제공되어야 하며, 실습학교에서도 적극적인 지도가 요청된다.
