The Tales of Son Byeong-sa is a narrative of a military commissioner whose family name was Son. A storytelling context is generally made on the base of long accumulated relationship network of blood ties or regional relation, and as a narrative of complicated relationship between a community and the character in the narrative, the Tales of Son Byeong-sa shows a sharp interaction aspect between many conditions of storytelling context in the course of the narratives performance.
Therefore, this is compared the aspects of the tradition of the tales of Son Byeong-sa according to region by reconsidering the relation between the origin of Sons from Iljik and the Tales of Son Byeong-sa. And contents of the Tales of Son Byeong-sa examined a interactive aspect with performers' personality at storytelling contents.

<손병사 이야기>는 손씨 성을 가진 병마절도사에 관한 이야기다. 일반적으로 이야기판은 혈연과 지연 등 오랜 기간 축적된 관계망을 토대로 만들어지는데, 특히 <손병사 이야기>는 지역 사회와 이야기 속 인물의 관계가 복잡하게 얽혀 있기 때문에 이야기판의 여러 조건이 상호 작용하는 양상 또한 첨예하게 나타날 수 있는 자료라 볼 수 있다.
따라서 본고는 일직손씨의 연원과 <손병사 이야기> 간의 관계를 재고하여 지역에 따른 이야기 전승 양상을 비교하였다. 아울러 <손병사 이야기> 내용이 이야기판에서 연행자의 성격과 상호 작용하는 양상을 살펴보았다.
