Usually religions have two aspects ; one is theory or dogma and the other is practical program. When religion tries to participate the suffering of Minjung, it will be acknowledged as true religion. Without practice or participation, there is no respect and concern about religion. Nowadays Korean society has rapid change mood with increase of Multicultural Families within a decade, which lead multicultures-multireligions-multiraces. Multicultural Families, however, have diverse sufferings ; violence at home, prejudice at work, alienation at school, illiteracy of Korean, poverty etc. We should identify them modern Minjung who have holy sufferings for the preparation of new era. Through the long history, from the pains of minjung, new religions were sprang out. Therefore Korean religions should focus on their sufferings and try to support them to become intermediation of Multicultural society and global cultures. Every religion has a vision to the end of history, destruction of evil society and establishment of new community filed with freedom, equality, social welfare and respect each other, which be able to construct multicultural society. It will be so called Omega Point Community among world religions. Especially Korean religions have a dream to establish such an ideal world with harmony, acceptance, and amalgamation of other country's religions. Marriage system has kept key role through long history to unite heterogeneous people and cultures. So Interreligious Marriage between inside and outside of country would be a good system to establish multicultural society. Interreligious multicultural families, based on Korean religious value system, might be a model for the future society, and devote to the peace and unity of Korean peninsula. It will be the shortest and useful way to approach ideal world village and cosmic village. With this system, Korean religions can possess the core function and value to lead society and produce new cultures. Multicultural families are the important system to connect all nations, races, and religions toward one great world families, Omega Point Community.

본 고찰의 목적은 다문화가족의 증가와 함께 한국이 다문화사회로 개혁되는 전환기를 맞이하여서 종교가 다문화가족이 겪는 고통에 동참하면서 다문화사회 구현에 기여하게 하려는 것이다. 한국 사회의 구성원으로 자리매김을 한 다문화가족이 겪는 문제의 해결은 한국의 평화와 통일과도 직결되기에 종교가 이들에게 관심을 가져야 하고, 나아가서 한국이 다문화사회로 형성하는 촉매 역할을 해야 할 것이다. 21세기를 맞이하면서 한국은 다문화가족의 양산과 함께 다문화사회로 급속히 진입하고 있다. 그리고 이런 현상은 다종교 다문화 다인종의 공존을 도모하기 위한 방안을 요구한다. 1988년 올림픽에서 한국의 명성을 떨치면서 다문화가족의 증가를 초래하였고, 이제는 모든 영역에서 다문화적 가치관을 수용한 패러다임의 전환이 활발하게 이뤄지고 있다. 다문화가족 증가 과정에서 그들이 겪는 아픔도 많고 그것은 곧 한국의 사회적 문제로 대두되었다. 이처럼 다문화사회를 향한 급변하는 과정에서 종교가 담당해야 할 역할이 크다. 종교는 사회 변화에 동참하고 미래 공동체의 방향성을 제시하는 역할을 할 때에 살아있는 참 종교로서의 존재 가치를 발휘할 수 있다. 그러므로 한국의 여러 종교들은 교파를 초월하여서 다문화가족의 고통에 동참하고, 이들을 중심하고서 인간 존중과 종교 융합 사상을 구현하여 다문화사회 실현에 기여해야 한다. 다문화가족이 겪는 고통은 다문화공동체를 낳기 위한 산고가 되고 있으며, 종교는 이들을 돕는 산파 역할을 하여서 종교들이 공통적으로 추구해온 오메가 포인트 커뮤니티 태동이 가능하게 해야 한다. 민중의 고통에 민감하고 동참하였던 전통을 공통적으로 가진 종교들은 다문화가족의 고통에 관심을 기울이고 또한 다문화가족의 양산에도 기여해야 할 것이다. 한국에서 다문화사회를 향한 개혁이 촉구되는 지금은 혼란과 위기의 때이면서 동시에 다문화적 가치관을 함의하고 있는 종교들의 역할이 중요하게 요구되는 때이다.
