The function of color has been in the main study subject related Psychology, Analytics, Therapeutics etc. The importance of color is increased much more than now owing to increasing the consequence of color as a means of differentiation the multi functions of beauty. Color has the visual and expressive power. Thus efficient development of the color education curriculum should be needed in perspective of the education purpose not attaining the only theoretical knowledge but experiencing and performing the learning contents directly. Online education has good points so as for instructors to use the various multimedia on contents conveniently and for learners to learn in the more rich environment. And comparing to the offline education environment, face-to-face education, the quality of education is able to improve in the online education environment through revitalization of the interactions between instructors and learners, each learners and so on. The purpose of this study is to design the contents and methods of color education which is appropriate of the learner characteristics, developing environment, and subject characteristics. And it is also to develop the new color education curriculum and online contents that is composed of the visual and auditory effects as different as the old methods such as blackboard and chalk. The satisfaction of color education curriculum and the instructional methods developed are verified in the result of the lecture appraisement in the S cyber University, the second semester, 2008.

색채의 기능은 기호적인 수단뿐만 아니라 심리학분석학치료학 등 모든 분야에서 연구관련 대상이 되고 있으며, 디자인 분야에서는 미와 기능의 복합 기능을 차별화하는 수단으로 그 비중을 더해가고 있고, 그에 따라 색채교육의 중요성도 더욱 커지고 있다. 색채는 지각적이며 표현적인 힘을 지닌 것이므로 단순히, 이론 습득에만 교육의 목표를 두는 것이 아닌, 학습내용을 직접적으로 체험하고, 활용할 수 있는, 효율적인 색채교육과정 개발이 필요하다. 한편, 온라인 교육은 다양한 멀티미디어 요소를 보다 자유롭게 활용할 수 있기 때문에 학습자로 하여금 보다 풍부한 학습 환경을 제공할 수 있는 장점이 있으며, 기존 면대면 교육에서 부족하기 쉬운 쌍방향의 상호작용, 즉 교수자와 학생, 학생과 학생간의 상호작용이 보다 활성화됨으로써 교육의 질을 높일 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 대학교양수준의 색채강좌 교육내용과 학습자의 특성, 개발환경, 교과특성에 적합한 교육방법(교수-학습모형)을 설계하여, 기존의 칠판과 분필로 대변되는 수업 도구를 멀티미디어적 교육매체 요소로 대치한 시각적, 청각적인 온라인 콘텐츠를 제공함으로써, 새로운 온라인 색채강좌 교육과정을 개발하였다. 또한, 개발한 온라인 색채강좌 교육과정을 실제 대학 강의에 실행하고 강의평가를 통해 평가함으로써, 교육 내용 및 교육방법(교수-학습전략)의 만족도를 확인하였다.
