An increase in number of high-rise buildings, large scale civil structures, and strengthened requirements for durability of buildings substantially extend the necessity of high-strength concrete with extended durability. With rapid urbanization in the end of the 20th century resulting in under supply of natural aggregate for fine concrete, new technologies have been under
development to use recycled coarse aggregate(RCA) for ready-mixed concrete. In this study, as a part of the effort to use of RCA, 36 specimens were made to test the bond stress between ready mixed RCA concrete and reinforcing bars as different replacement ratio of RCA. It is found through this test that there is no significant difference between the concretes with RCA and those without RCA in the maximum bond stress with reinforcing bars. The maximum bond stress acquired in the test is within the requirements when comparing to the existing bond stress suggested by ACI, CEB-FIP and the 島(Sima). The test result also shows that despite the increase of replacement ratio of the RCA, the bond strength of the ready mixed RCA concrete is similar to that of natural aggregate concrete.
