인터넷 사용자의 특성을 파악하고 또한 이들이 호텔에 대한 사용자 환경을 고려하여 분석하고 호텔 인터넷 서비스의 효과적인 운영과 프로그램 및 시설을 개발하는데 기여하고자 한다. 연구의 범위는, 랭킹닷컴 호텔 웹사이트에서 국내 10위권의 호텔 중 한국관광호텔업협회에 등록되어 있는 특 1급인 9호텔을 선정하였다. 연구결과 신라호텔, 앰배서더 호텔, 파라다이스 호텔, 쉐라톤 워커힐 호텔, 밀레니엄 서울 힐튼 호텔 등은 인터페이스가 매우 잘 정리되어 있었다. 특급호텔 예약시스템의 10가지 인터페이스 측면 중에서도 신라호텔의 다단 활용과 컨텐츠 노출, 쉐라톤워커힐 호텔의 레이어 활용과 안내 서비스, 밀레니엄서울 힐튼 호텔의 안내 서비스 등이 긍정적으로 보여지고 있다. 6가지 디자인 측면 중에서도 신라호텔의 웹스타일 가이드와 스타일 시트의 활용, 앰배서더 호텔의 전지점 예약접근성, 쉐라톤워커힐 호텔의 다단 구성, 밀레니엄서울 힐튼 호텔의 디테일적 우수성과 배너활용 등이 긍정적으로 보여지고 있다. 사이트가 개편할 경우, 이와 같은 점을 고려함으로서 제작자와 사용자의 커뮤니케이션은 물론 사용성이 높은 웹사이트 제작에 중점을 두어야 할 것으로 본다.
