We have analyzed works of several artists who have shown the floral forms considering the large-scaled building’s shape and color, to suggest their ways of floral design application and the theories. We have divided the designs on 11 buildings in Barcelona into 7 themes and analyzed them. As a result, we have decided that the design was made by the following methods.
- Imitate the shape of the buildings.
- Express the colors that are similar or contrast to those of the buildings.
- Re-interpret various meanings the buildings have into shapes and colors and apply them to the floral design.
As a result of utilizing 3 ways above, these methods has showed the harmony between the buildings and the designs, using design theories. Also, just like building designs become modern as time goes by, the ways of floral design and expression style have also become modern, which is interesting. Finally, we have concluded that various ways and trials to apply floral designs not only on construction but also on various fields should be made continuously.
