- This paper examines the significance of developing translation tool using skills in an electronic age. Over the years, there has been extensive discussion into the nature of translation competence. However, the focus has been placed mainly on linguistic and cultural aspects of translation. Becoming a professional translator in a fast-changing high-tech environment entails the capability to produce texts using various tools. Many softwares are also great contributors to the development of translation studies by facilitating the analysis of translation phenomena. Accordingly, translator's competence in capitalizing on advanced technology ought to be recognized as an essential part of becoming a competent translator.
