- In translation for publishing translators' product have to go through revision process by editors or free-lance revisors. This study interviewed two free-lance revisors to grasp overall situation of revision in translation for publishing. Results are as follows: free-lance revisors get their revision work, based on work experiences in publishing companies in past; general revision guidelines are not established between revisors, translators and editors, which complicate their communication and cooperation; free-lance revisors are underpaid and underprivileged, which has become obstacle to guarantee reliable revision quality. This study can contribute to deepening the understanding of translation for publishing, finding out who are free-lance revisors and how they work.
