- The present paper examines the concept of interdisciplinarity in translation studies. Firstly, this study reviews previous discussions related to the topic, especially the notion of ‘integrated approach’, proposed and developed by Snell-Hornby. During this process, the characteristics as well as the limitations of this concept are identified. Secondly, this article focuses on the concrete results of interdisciplinary cooperation in the translation studies in 90s, explained by Snell-Hornby. Thirdly, by making some analysis about obstacles to research of interdiscplinary translation studies in Korea, it provides some suggestions for the interdisciplinary translation studies.
