The purpose of this study is the presentation of the instruction method for the moral education in the community of inquiry with the use of video materials. Recently a explosion of the media have influence on teenager's culture. Teachers should recognize such influence of the the media, and apply to an instruction process effectively. But the development and dissemination of educational multimedia software is still inadequate.Video materials can be used as good supplements to regular classroom teaching and a good text that pass over a textbook. Especially in moral education the use of video can bring the moral sensitive reaction, and the students oriented themselves about many moral agenda easily. Also, the community of inquiry set much value on a reflective inquiry with conversation, commutative respects, discussion, then it can be cultivate a moral motivation, an ability of moral judgement and community spirit. So, video materials can change a classroom environment into a better educational setting to achieve ultimate goal in moral education.Therefore this study suggested the necessity of lessons with using video materials and the community of inquiry as a theoretical background, then presented the subject catalog of video materials for the moral lessons. Finally, the instruction method for the moral education in the community of inquiry with the use of video materials can help the moral teachers to take lessons actually.

최근 미디어의 폭발적 확장은 청소년 문화에 큰 영향을 미치고 있다. 교사들은 이러한 미디어의 영향력을 인지하고, 이를 교수학습과정에 효과적으로 적용하는 수업을 구상하는 것이 필요하다. 그러나 교사들이 수업시간에 유용하게 사용할 수 있는 교수학습용 멀티미디어 소프트웨어의 개발 및 보급은 여전히 미진하다. 이에 필자는 도덕과의 교수학습 효과를 높이기 위한 방안으로서 영상활용교육과 탐구공동체 수업모형의 접목을 시도한 ‘영상을 활용한 도덕과 탐구공동체 수업모형’을 제시하고자 한다.영상은 수업보조자료 뿐만 아니라, 그 자체가 교과서를 뛰어넘는 훌륭한 텍스트가 될 수 있다. 특히 도덕과에서 영상활용수업은 학생들이 도덕적 문제 사태에 보다 민감하게 반응하게 하고, 도덕적 주제와 관련된 다양한 입장을 보다 쉽게 파악할 수 있게 하는 장점을 지닌다. 또한 탐구공동체 수업은 대화를 통한 반성적 탐구활동과 상호존중, 토론을 통해 도덕적 판단능력과 공동체정신을 함양하는 것을 목표로 한다. 이러한 맥락에서 영상을 활용한 도덕과 탐구공동체 수업모형은 영상을 통한 도덕적 사실의 제시 또는 구체적 이해, 도덕적 동기유발을 가능하게 하고, 탐구공동체를 통한 도덕적 판단 능력과 공동체 정신을 함양할 수 있을 것이다. 따라서 본고에서는 먼저 영상활용교육과 탐구공동체 수업의 필요성을 이론적 배경으로서 살펴볼 것이다. 이어서 도덕과에서 활용가능한 동영상자료들을 주제별로 제시하고, 영상을 활용한 도덕과 탐구공동체 수업모형에 따른 교수학습과정 예시안을 개발하여 현장의 교사들이 실제 수업을 구상하는데 도움이 되고자 한다.
