The purposes of this study were to categorize tutor roles in cyber home learning into teacher roles and system manager roles, examine differences in the awareness of the two roles' importance and performance, and explore practical measures to narrow the gap between them as much as possible. Paired sample t-test was conducted to analyze differences in the awareness of tutor roles' importance and performance, and the 'importance-performance analysis(IPA)' matrix was applied to search for specific strategies to reinforce tutor roles in cyber home learning. Those research efforts led to the following conclusions: first, there were huge differences in the awareness of tutor roles' importance and performance between teacher roles and system manager roles, which raises a need to develop a learning management system for teachers themselves to check the performance of their tutor roles daily in order to narrow such a gap; and secondly, the IPA matrix results of teacher roles and system manager roles suggest that future models and strategies to run cyber home learning should be developed in a way that the items whose importance level is low can be connected to those which should be maintained in the current level instead of separating them.

본 연구에서는 사이버 가정학습에서 튜터의 역할을 크게 교수자 역할과 시스템 관리자 역할로 구분하여 튜터 역할의 중요도와 실행도 인식 정도를 조사하고 이들 간의 격차를 최대한 줄일 수 있는 실천 방안을 탐색하는데 그 목적이 있다. 튜터 역할의 중요도와 실행도 인식 정도의 차이를 분석하기 위해서는 대응표본 t 검정을 실시하였고, 사이버 가정학습에서 튜터 역할을 강화하기 위한 구체적인 전략을 모색하기 위해 ‘중요도-실행도 분석’(IPA) matrix 방법을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결론을 제시하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 튜터의 교수자 역할과 시스템 관리자 역할에 대한 중요도와 실행도 인식 정도의 차이가 크기 때문에, 이러한 차이를 줄일 수 있도록 튜터의 역할 수행 정도를 교사 스스로 매일 점검할 수 있는 학습 관리 시스템(LMS) 개발이 필요하다. 둘째, 튜터의 교수자 역할과 시스템 관리자 역할에 대한 중요도-실행도 분석(IPA) matrix를 실시한 결과, 중요도가 낮게 나타나는 항목을 지속적으로 현 수준을 유지해야 하는 항목과 분리시키는 것이 아니라, 두 가지 영역을 연계하여 구체적으로 실행할 수 있는 사이버 가정학습 운영 모형과 전략을 개발해야 한다.
