Man as Question: An Inquiry of Philosophical Anthropology and Metaphysics Byoung-Jun Park(Sogang Univ.) The human being is the existence that asks. Questioning is a basic performance of the human spirit. But the actual performance of the question begins between the abyss and the presentation of the being that is usually hidden to us, or in the tension between those. One Philosopher who had just that insight, is M. Heidegger. Heidegger, who said that questioning is the piety of thinking, concluded that all questioning is questioning about the meaning of being. This thinking gave influence to K. Rahner and E. Coreth too. Furthermore especially, Coreth makes the question itself as an important method to establish the basis of his metaphysics. This paper searches first of all Coreth’ thinking. Coreth makes the question itself a method and the first starting point of his transcendental, metaphysical philosophy. For this purpose, this paper studies 1) what is the essence and meaning of the question itself, 2) the question as a basic performance of the human spirit and the judgment as a thought process, 3) the question as the starting point, and the transcendental condition of the question.

인간은 물음을 던지는 존재이다. 물음은 인간 정신의 가장 기본적인 수행 방식 가운데 하나이다. 그러나 물음의 실제적인 행위 실행은 우리에게 감추어져 있는 존재의 심연과 밝힘 사이 그리고 그들 사이의 긴장 안에 놓여 있다. 이러한 통찰을 일찍이 가져온 현대 철학자가 하이데거이다. 하이데거는 물음은 사유의 경건함이라 말하고, 인간의 궁극적이며 본래적인 행위라 할 수 있는 물음을 존재 물음으로 귀착시킨바 있다. 이러한 사유는 칼 라너와 에머리히 코레트 사상에 지대한 영향을 주었다. 특히 코레트는 한발 더 나아가 물음 자체를 그의 형이상학의 정초를 다지는 방법론으로 삼기까지 한다. 본고는 물음 자체를 그의 철학의 주요 방법론으로 삼는 코레트의 ‘물음’ 사유를 탐구한다. 코레트의 사유에 있어서 물음 자체는 그의 초월론적, 형이상학적 철학의 주요 방법이요 첫출발점이다. 이러한 탐구를 위하여 본고는 1) 물음 자체의 의미와 본질, 2) 인간 정신의 기본 수행으로서의 물음과 판단의 문제, 3) 출발점으로서의 물음과 물음의 초월론적 조건 등을 차례로 탐구하고 검토한다.
