This study was performed to discuss re-construction of characteristic and identity of practical science in a viewpoint of future society. Practical science is integrated into technopia with technology, an integration level is higher than before. It needs to cultivate the high class cognition to solve the living problem in the future educational consumer. The main contents of this study were the relationship practical arts education and practical science education, the need analysis on the modification of practical science subject name, the relationship practical science and glocalization, the exploration on improvement program of an ability to adapt in living in use of brain-storming and mind-map. The literature review including internet surfing and survey were utilized as research method in this study. Practical Arts Education is a representative subject of localism to identify the symbol of the Korean. In order to complete the glocalization through the blending localism with globalism, practical arts education should be changed toward the need of consumer with the change of era. Not only subject name but also educational contents, teaching method should be changed. Educational contents must be designed to holistic contents. And learning activity should be practiced on the method of mind-map with brain-storming to solve living problem.

이 연구는 교육의 수요자와 미래사회의 관점에서 실과교육의 성격과 정체성의 재확립을 논의하기 위해 진행되었다. 미래사회의 생활과 과학은 기술을 매개로 통합되어 가고 있으며, 통합의 수준은 점점 높아질 것으로 전망된다. 이에 따라 교육 수요자들은 보다 편리하고 합리적인 생활을 위해 생활 속 문제를 해결할 고등정신기능이 배양될 필요가 있다. 이 연구의 주요 내용은 실과교육과 생활과학교육의 관계, 실과교과 및 학과의 명칭 변경에 대한 요구분석, 생활과학과 글로컬리제이션의 관계, 브레인스토밍과 마인드맵을 통해 생활적응 능력을 향상시키는 프로그램 탐색 등이었으며, 인터넷 검색이 포함된 문헌고찰과 설문조사 방식으로 추진되었다. 실과교육은 한민족의 정체성과 고유성을 나타내주는 대표적인 로컬리즘 교과이다. 로컬리즘 고유의 특성을 살리면서 글로벌리즘과 융합하여 글로컬리제이션을 완성하기 위해서는 시대의 변화와 수요자의 요구에 부응하는 방향으로 변해야 한다. 그런데 변해야 하는 것은 교과의 명칭만이 아니다. 실과교육의 교육내용과 교수방법에 있어서도 지식과 기능에 대한 강조에서 벗어나 홀리스틱 관점에서 합리적인 생활문제 해결과 고등 정신기능을 배양하기 위해 브레인스토밍 기법과 마인드맵이 활용되어야 한다.
