In this paper, we covered the capability how the nagative affix ‘un-’ and the nagative suffix ‘-frei’ of german language can be combined with which kind of basis word. They can be combined with basis word and also have a semantic function negating its basis word. Prafix ‘un-’ produces some coinages through mainly combining with noun as well as adjective. Nowadays in german language, it is interesting that infinitive does not combine with prafix ‘un-’ any more. We can observe some suffixes, for example ‘-frei’, ‘-los’, and ‘-leer’ and so forth, as some negative elements containing a negative prafix ‘un-’ in german language. The nagative suffix ‘-frei’ in them, basically forms adjective coinage by combining with just noun in german language. And negative suffix ‘-frei’ also has semantic function negating noun of basis word belonging to the first component.
