The purpose of this study was to analyze how audience interact to and involve in the characters and contents of fantastic his-tory-based program, and how the interaction and involvement were interrelated. To analyze multi-reactions of audiences to the program, the three levels of interaction(affective, cognitive, behavioral) and two types of involvement(referential, critical) of parasocial interaction were synthesized. The results revealed that the degree of behavioral inter-action to the program characters and contents was the highest, and the degree of affective and cognitive interaction followed, respectively. Moreover, the degree of critical involvement was higher than the degree of referential involvement to the program characters and contents. The relationship among the three levels of interaction and two types of in-volvement indicated that audiences who displayed behavioral and affec-tive interaction more likely to exhibit critical involvement with the pro-gram characters and contents.

본 연구의 목적은 역사적 혹은 신화적 사실을 배경으로 한 역사 드라마를 시청한 수용자들이 프로그램 배역과 내용에 대해 어떤 의사사회적 상호작용(parasocial interactivity)과 관여(involvement)를 보이며, 상호작용과 관여는 서로 어떻게 연관되어 있는지 알아보는 것이다. 수용자의 다차원적 반응을 알아보기 위해 의사사회적 상호작용을 세 가지(정서적, 인지적, 행위적) 상호작용과 두 가지(참조적, 비판적) 관여로 세분화해 수용자들의 직접적 표현이 담긴 프로그램 게시판에 올라온 글을 실증적으로 분석하고 비교했다. 내용분석, 빈도분석, 교차분석을 적용한 연구의 결과, 수용자들은 프로그램 배역과 내용에 대해 행위적, 정서적, 인지적 순으로 상호작용 정도의 차이를 보였으며, 참조적보다는 비판적 관여를 많이 하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 상호작용과 관여의 관계를 알아보기 위한 교차분석 결과, 행위적이고 정서적인 상호작용을 많이 하는 수용자가 프로그램의 내용과 배역에 대한 비판적 관여를 할 가능성이 높다는 통계적으로 유의미한 결과가 나타났다.
