절도는 가볍게 여겨질 수 있는 범죄이지만 절도 범죄가 강력 범죄를 수반할 가능성이 있기 때 문에 성공적인 DNA형 확보를 위한 노력이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 DNA 추가 감정을 통해 절도 사 건을 성공적으로 해결한 두 건의 사례를 보고하고자 한다. 담배꽁초와 음료 캔을 닦은 면봉에서 각각 혼합된 DNA형을 얻었지만 증거물에 남아있는 다른 부위를 추가로 분석함으로써 각 사건으로부터 특 정 남성의 DNA 프로필을 얻을 수 있었다. 이 두 남성의 DNA 프로필은 DNA 신원확인정보 데이터베 이스 검색을 통해 구속피의자와 일치함을 확인하였고, 결과적으로 사건 해결에 중요한 기여를 할 수 있 었다. 더불어 본 논문에서는 절도사건의 감정물 의뢰변화를 파악하고자 최근 3년간 서울과학수사연구 소 관할지역으로 의뢰된 절도사건 현장감정물을 종류에 따라 분류하였고, 담배꽁초와 인체분비물 감정 물은 감소하는 반면에 접촉 감정물은 증가하는 결과를 관찰하였다.

The larceny or theft has been considered not a serious crime. However, it should not be overlooked that the thieves might commit violent crimes. It is why a successful DNA typing is important in larceny cases. In this paper, we reported two theft cases successfully solved through additional DNA analysis. Mixed DNA profiles were obtained from a cigarette butt and a cotton swab of beverage can at the first DNA typing experiments. We collected the other part of the evidences remained, followed by additional DNA analysis, the male DNA profiles were successfully obtained. The male profiles were matched to two arrestees respectively by DNA database search. As a result, we were able to play a crucial role in solving crimes. In addition, we classified the theft evidences requested for DNA analysis from the police station of the seoul institute jurisdiction for the past three years. The results showed that touch DNA samples were increased on the other hand cigarette butts and body fluid samples were decreased.
