음성은 사람이 살아가는 동안, 자신의 의사를 표현하고 전달하는 부분에 있어 매우 필수적인 요 소 중에 하나이다. 사람들 중에는 사고, 질병, 수술, 성대의 과도한 사용 등으로 인해 정상적인 말하기 가 불가능해지는 경우가 있으며, 노화도 이러한 원인 중의 하나이다. 음성이 소실되어 말하기에 문제 가 생기는 경우, 삶의 질 저하는 물론, 사회와의 단절을 초래하게 된다. 최근 노령화와 환경오염 등으 로 인하여 음성 소실이 발생하는 확률이 크게 늘어나게 되었다. 본 고에서는 이와 관련한 생체 – 기 계 인터페이스의 개념에서 입 주변의 생체신호 측정을 가능하게 하는 마우스인터페이스 기술과 이를 이용한 음성 재생, 의지적 조정을 도와주는 기술들을 정리해보고, 관련된 인공 입 기술 발전 방향을 모색해보고자 한다.

Voice is one of essential elements for expressing and transferring his or her intention as a human being. There are cases of losing voice, for examples, by accidents, by disease, by medical surgery, by abuses of vocal cords, and by aging. When people lose their voices, it causes to severely degrade one’s ‘Quality of Life’ and to separate the patient with society. Recently, aged population and environmental pollution have increased, and thus this change raises probability of speech loss. In this paper, we survey on mouth interface technologies, which are mouth version of bodymachine interfaces, for voice reproduction and volitional control, and find a way to develop the artificial mouth technologies.

현재 한국은 다양한 사회적, 문화적 현상이 공존하고 있다. 지금껏 은폐되었던 성 소수자 문제가 점차 가시화되고 있으며, 체류 외국인이 100만을 넘어선 상태로 본격적인 다문화 사회로 진입한 만큼 다인종, 다문화에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 이러한사회 문화적 현상에 주목하여, 본 논문에서는 한국의 미디어가 ‘타자’라고 명명되는특정 집단을 어떻게 재현하고 있는가를 ‘목소리의 재현’ 측면에서 분석하였으며, 특히본 연구에서는 텔레비전 코미디 프로그램에서 재현되는 남성 동성애자와 조선족의목소리을 그 분석대상으로 삼았다. 이를 통해 현재 주류 미디어가 특정 집단의 목소리를 특정한 방식으로 재현함으로써 사회, 문화적 특수성을 드러냄과 동시에 특정 집단을 타자화하고 있다는 점을 밝히고자 했다. 분석결과, 한국의 미디어는 이성애 중심의문화로 인해 남성 동성애자에게 거친 숨소리, 부자연스러운 고음과 같은 여성스러운목소리를 선택하고 이를 재생산함으로써 이들을 성적 대상으로 볼거리화하고 있었다. 또한 조선족의 목소리에 음의 고저의 변화가 강하게 나타나며, 떨림이 심하고, 음의지속시간이 짧아서 다소 급하게 들리는 등과 같은 듣기 불편한 목소리를 선택하였다. 한국의 주류 미디어에서 나타나는 이와 같은 목소리 재현 방식은 다양한 텍스트를 통해 끊임없이 재생산됨으로써 일종의 생산 관습으로 자리 잡혀 있었다.

Various political and cultural phenomenon related to gay, korean chinese currently exist in Korea. The issue of sexual minority that has been concealed and hidden, in particular, is being importantly dealt with from the commercial success of media texts with subject matter on sexual minority. Meanwhile, the interest in multi-ethnicity and multi-culture is increasing as the Korean society has become a multi-cultural society of over one million foreigners residing in Korea. Furthermore, the tendency of marginalizing regions or countries with low economic capital is still being revealed in Korea. Such tendency is specifically revealed through hierarchy of language. Accordingly, this paper analyzed from the aspect of ‘voice reproduction’ regarding how the Korean mainstream media are portraying minority groups in the gay, korean chinese aspect. Based on this, this paper sought to reveal that mainstream media are otherizing particular groups, while revealing the cultural and political specialness of social minority groups by reproducing their voices in certain ways. The analysis result showed that the Korean mainstream media were portraying sexual minorities(gay) as sexual objects by selecting and assigning rough breathing sound, unnatural high-pitched feminine voice for them as a result of the heterosexual love centered culture. In addition, voices of korean chineses were caricaturized or portrayed excessively emotionally for the sake of inducing laughter or emotional impact. The otherization from such voice reproduction shown in the Korean mainstream media had become a sort of productive custom as it was endlessly reproduced from the aspect of productive efficiency.
