U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s Regulatory Guide 5.71 requires CMVP (Cryptographic Module Validation Program)-approved cryptographic modules for Nuclear facilities. And NIST documents also require CMVP-approved modules for smart grid networks. In this paper, a convergence method of CMVP and SSL(Secure Socket Layer) for web services and performance results of the method are presented.

WiFi networks, which have been widely used along with the explosive increases in the supply of smartphones, can provide high network speeds but cannot prevent user information spills though rogue Access Points (APs). Therefore, the present paper proposes a method to exchange SSL session keys through more secure 3G networks to be used in WiFi networks in order to prevent such spills. In the proposed method, only those session keys to be used in SSLs are exchanged through 3G networks, and the remaining application data is transferred through WiFi networks. Therefore, attacks by rogue APs can be prevented with sufficient use of the speedy and efficient WiFi networks.

최근 인터넷을 기반으로 한 각종 전자상거래가 활성화되면서 안전한 웹 기반 프로토콜들에 대한 요구가 급증하고 있다. 인터넷 온라인 증권 트레이딩, 인터넷 온라인 뱅킹 등 많은 응용들이 고도의 보안을 필요로 하며 이를 위해 웹 보안 프로토콜들이 널리 사용되고 있다. 본 고에서는 최근 사용이 급증하고 있는 보안프로토콜인 SSL(Secure Socket Layer) 프로토콜에 대하여 분석하며, 아울러 1995년에 제안된 S-HTTP에 대하여도 함께 고찰하고자 한다.

SSL 프로토콜은 최근 네트워크 시스템에서 광범위 하게 사용되는 메카니즘중의 하나이다. 본 논문에서는 SSL 프로토콜을 기반으로 향상된 정보보호 메커니즘을 설계하였다. 여기에서는 네가지 중요한 정보보호 서비스를 제공한다. 첫번째는 SSL에서 제공하는 인증서를 이용한 인증서비스이고, 두번째는 DES 암호 알고리즘을 이용한 메시지 암호화 서비스이다. 세번째는 해쉬 알고리즘을 이용한 메시지의 무결성 서비스이고 네번째는 부인봉쇄 정보 서비스이다. 그러므로, 정보는 본 논문에서 특별히 설계된 부인봉쇄 서비스를 이용한 정보보호 메커니즘을 통해 안전하게 전송된다.

The SSL(Secure Socket Layer) protocol is one of the mechanism widely used in the recent network system. The improved information security mechanism based on the SSL is designed in this paper. There are important four information security services. The first is the authentication service using the Certificate offered from the SSL(Secure Socket Layer), the second is the message confidentiality service using the DES encryption algorithm, the third is the message integrity service using Hash function, and the fourth is Non-repudiation service. Therefore, information could be transferred securely under the information security mechanism including Non-repudiation service especially designed in this paper.

인터넷 전자 상거래의 폭발적 증가와 더불어 개인 및 기업의 정보가 온라인 상으로 유출되는 경우가 증가하고 있다. 이에 따라. 새로운 하드웨어의 추가 없이 프로토콜 및 알고리즘의 변화에 유연한 인터넷 보안방법이 요구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 사용자 영역과 상관없는 커널 스레드를 사용하고 커널 영역으로 포팅된 라이브러리를 참조하여 사용자의 웹 페이지 요청을 처리함으로써 응답시간과 서버 부하를 감소시키는 새로운 SSL(Secure Socket Layer) 처리 구조를 제안한다.
