Circadian rhythm of melatonin secretion and growth-related gene expression in the tiger puffer Takifugu rubripes

Somatostatin (SS) and growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) are primary factors regulating growth hormone (GH) secretion in the pituitary. To date, it remains unknown how this rhythm is controlled endogenously, although there must be coordination of circadian manners. Melatonin was the main regulator in biological rhythms, and its secretion has fluctuation by photic information. But relationship between melatonin and growth-related genes (ghrh and ss) is unclear. We investigated circadian rhythms of melatonin secretion, ghrh and ss expressions, and correlation between melatonin with growth-related genes in tiger puffer Takifugu rubripes. The melatonin secretion showed nocturnal rhythms under light and dark (LD) conditions. In constant light (LL) condition, melatonin secretion has similar patterns with LD conditions. ss1 mRNA was high during scotophase under LD conditions. But ss1 rhythms disappeared in LL conditions. Ghrh appeared opposite expression compared with melatonin levels or ss1 expression under LD and LL. In the results of the melatonin injection, ghrh and ss1 showed no significant expression compared with control groups. These results suggested that melatonin and growth-related genes have daily or circadian rhythms in the tiger puffer. Further, we need to know mechanisms of each ss and ghrh gene regulation.

Laser cutting system uses a gas jet to remove the molten or varpozed material from the workpiece. The quality of the laser cut can be strongly influenced by the gas flow charac- teristics formed through the nozzle. Laser cutting experiments were carried out for SS41 and SUS 304 to investigate the relationship between cut quality and cutting pressure. The cutting speed, nozzle pressure and nozzle to workpiece distance were also considered. The cut specimens were inspected by various manners such as dross observation, surface roughness test and kerf width measurement. Based on the data of pressure measurement on workpiece and the results of cut surface inspection, the influence of the considered cutting conditions on cut quality could be evaluated. The purpose of this research is to develop a model which generates ideas in fashion design by use of collage techniques. With regard to research methodology, a literature survey was undertaken to find out and understand characteristics of collage. Analytic and positive studies were also done on the styles of fashion design of the 2003 SS collections to which collage techniques applied. In order to generate ideas in fashion design, the following mechanism using collage techniques can be used. Above all, pluralism is realized by collecting incoherent elements. Secondly, deconstruction is made by changing scales and configuration. Lastly, relativity is attained by using parts of ready-made goods and respecting their independency.

건강-의료 관련 전공자를 위한 해부학 가상강의 컨텐츠 개발 및 적용

...ssive e-learning teaching method in the teaching of human anatomy. For analysis of the effect of new teaching methods, we made a survey of user satisfaction, content difficulty, and course management. The e-learning content was developed by the authors and implemented to class, practice, and tests, for 16 weeks. The survey was conducted on sophomores of nursing science (NS, n=42) and sports science (SS, n=26), at Kangwon National University. These two groups of students filled out a questionnaire related to effectiveness of e-learning content and tool in learning human anatomy. The results were compared between two groups. The majority of the students were satisfied with the content, difficulty level, and management of the e-learning course. Through the board of virtual classroom, all of the students played positive manners in communication and activity. Students pointed out ‘reinforcement of multimedia data’, ‘improvement of technical service’ and ‘addition of broad information’ as the most notable improvements of content. Therefore, we conclude that an e-learning course for undergraduate nursing science and sports science students can provide an effective learning model.

최근 건강-의료 분야의 학과 신설 및 전공자가 급격하게 늘어남에 따라 해부학 교육의 질적 향상 및 학 습자의 학습효과 증진을 도모하기 위해서는 새로운 강의방식의 도입이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구는 해부학 과목 이 전공필수로 포함되어 있는 강원대학교 2개 학과(간호학과, 스포츠과학부) 전공자들을 대상으로 해부학 강의를 위하여 강원대학교 e-러닝 센터와 함께 가상강의 컨텐츠를 개발 과정에 있어 담당교수의 역할을 분석하고, 정규교 육과정에서 적용한 후, 학생들의 설문 조사와 가상강의실 운영 성과를 평가하였다. 해부학 가상강의 컨텐츠와 운영에 대하여 학생들의 만족도와 활용가능성, 난이도, 운영의 적절성에서 긍정적인 평가를 받았으며, 가상강의실 게시판 활동을 통하여 학생들이 자율적이고 능동적인 학습활동을 보였다. 그러나 학 생들이 개선점으로 지적한 컨텐츠의 질적 향상 및 관련 자료의 보강은 시급히 개선해야 할 부분으로 나타났다. 따라서 본 연구는 건강-의료 분야의 전공자뿐만 아니라 다양한 분야에서 요구하고 있는 강의수요에 비해 턱없 이 부족한 해부학 전공 교수진의 교육 부담을 경감하고 해부학교육에 있어 새로운 지평을 열 수 있는 가상강의에 대한 연구로서, 향후 해부학 강의에 있어 충분한 활용가치가 있는 효과적인 교수법이 될 것으로 사료된다.
