The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of exercise rehabilitation program after meniscus transplantation on the function in knee joint and quality of life, and to examine the gender difference in rehabilitation. Subjects were 11 meniscus transplantation patients, and assigned to 2 groups(male:5, femal:6). Lysholm score, and KOOS were measured at pre-exercise, 6th week, and 12th week during 12-week exercise rehabilitation program(3 times per week, 80∼90 min. per time). As a result, in Lysholm score and KOOS, no significance was shown between groups at 6th and 12th week, whereas significance was shown within group in both groups. In conclusion it is suggested that 12-week exercise rehabilitation program after meniscus transplantation should have the positive effect on the function in knee joint and quality of life. And gender difference should be considered during rehabilitation after meniscus transplantation.

In this study, shame was understood as a negative self-evaluative experience characterized by the perception that one’s value and dignity as a person have been damaged. Such shame may emerge as a complex self-experience shaped by affect, cognition, core beliefs, identity, narratives. This study explored the practical usefulness of group counseling based on the KOOS (Knowing Ourselves through Ongoing Stories) model for facilitating the transformation of shame into the restoration of dignity and engagement in creative challenges. The KOOS model adopts a narrative perspective as its meta-framework, uses poetic metaphor to facilitate the symbolization and externalization of shame experience, and integrates cognitive-behavioral approaches tailored to individuals’ life contexts and psychological readiness. Eight sessions of KOOS model-based group counseling were conducted with six women in their fifties, and the experiences of three participants were analyzed using a qualitative case study approach. Participants experienced the processes of Staying, which established psychological safety and distance; Facing, which involved confronting shame experiences; Breaking Through, which supported reconstruction of alternative self-narratives; and Blooming, which restored dignity and translated renewed self-understanding into creative challenges in everyday life. They also revisited these stages through a spiral process of change, achieved deeper integration over time. The findings suggest that the KOOS model can facilitate shame healing and dignity restoration, and the poetic metaphor can suppot the symbolization of affective experiences and the reconstruction of self-narratives.
