Experimental Comparison of Hybrid and Native Applications for Mobile Systems SCOPUS

Currently, mobile applications can be developed with two ways, native or hybrid applications. In this paper, we develop representative mobile application, social network service application, in both of native method and hybrid method to evaluate with the application at the aspect of development cost and performance cost. There are two key factors in developing mobile applications; the one is user interface design, and the other is efficient utilization of device capabilities such as various sensors, cameras, network interfaces. The UI composition time and networking performance are experimented with developed applications. From the results, we identify that the UI for hybrid applications had better to develop with dynamic composition nature, and mobile device capabilities had better to be done aggregately when these are used in hybrid applications.

An Efficient Portable Navigation Device with GPS and BDS Positioning Capabilities SCOPUS

A portable navigation device is a portable electronic product, which has an important function in terms of positioning capability. In order to improve the positioning performance, an efficient portable navigation device is proposed in this paper. The proposed portable navigation device integrates the GPS receiver module and BDS receiver module, and then owns the GPS and BDS positioning capabilities simultaneously. In order to improve the performance of displaying the electronic maps, an efficient strategy based on the levels of detail is designed to display the electronic maps. A series of experiments are conducted and the experimental results show that the proposed portable navigation device can receive and analyze both the BDS and GPS data correctly, as well as the proposed strategy for displaying the electronic maps is better than the traditional strategy that displays all the map files at the same time.

In order to provide smart devices with high quality multimedia streaming services, an adaptive streaming technique over HTTP has been received much attention recently and the Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (DASH) standard has been established. In DASH, however, the technique to select an appropriate quality of multimedia based on the performance metrics measured in a smart device might have some difficulties to reflect the capabilities of other neighboring smart devices and dynamic network conditions in real time. To solve the problem, this paper proposes a novel software agent approach, called DASH agent (DA), which gathers and analyzes the device capabilities and dynamic network conditions in real time and finally determines the highest achievable quality of segment to meet the best Quality of Experience (QoE) in current situations. The simulation results show that our approach provides higher quality of multimedia segments with less frequency of quality changes to lower quality of multimedia segments.

중·고령층의 디지털기기정보 활용역량이 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향: 디지털기기 이용성과 매개효과를 중심으로

This study aims to verify the mediating effect of digital device utilization performance in the between the use of digital device information(PC and mobile) and life satisfaction for middle-aged and elderly people. In this study, “2020 Digital Devide Survey”data collected by the National Information Society Agency was used, 2,300 subjects were studied, targeting middle aged and elderly people aged 55 or older. As the analysis data, a hierarchical regression analysis by Baron & Kenny (1986) was performed using the SPSS 25.0 statistical package. As a result of hierarchical regression analysis, it was found that mobile-based digital device utilization capabilities had a positive (+) effect in life satisfaction, but PC-based digital device utilization capabilities was not significant in life satisfaction. In addition, the effect of digital device utilization performance on life satisfaction was found to have a statistically significant positive (+) effect as a mediating effect on mobile-based digital device utilization. The results of this study showed that the mobile digital device usage capability is linked to the digital device usage capability, and the mobile-based digital device usage capability is more suitable for the digital device usage and life satisfaction.

본 연구는 장애인의 디지털기기정보 활용역량이 일상생활 만족도에 미치는 영향을 분석하고, 이 과정에서 디지털 조력의 매개효과를 중점적으로 탐구하였다. 디지털기기정보 활용역량은 현대 사회에서 중요한 역할을 하며, 특히 장애인의 삶의 질을 개선하는 데 중요한 요소로 작용한다. 그러나 디지털 격차는 여전히 큰 문제로 남아 있으며, 이는 장애인의 사회적 배제와 연결될 수 있다. 본 연구는 장애인의 디지털기기정보 활용역량이 일상생활 만족도에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 분석하고자 연구 대상은 2200명의 장애인으로, 한국지능정보사회연구원의 「2023년 디지털 정보격차 실태조사」 자료를 활용하였다. 이를 바탕으로 회귀분석과 매개변수 검증을 통해 연구 모형을 검증하였다. 연구 결과, 장애인의 디지털기기정보 활용역량이 높을수록 일상생활의 만족도가 높아지며, 디지털 조력이 이러한 관계를 매개함을 확인하였다. 이는 장애인들이 디지털 환경에 보다 적극적으로 참여할 수 있는 방안을 마련하고, 이들의 삶의 질을 높이는 데 기여할 수 있는 정책적 지원과 교육 프로그램의 필요성을 시사한다. 또한, 디지털 기기 접근성 향상과 디지털 조력의 활용이 장애인의 사회적 자본 형성에도 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 보여주었다.

This study analyzed the impact of digital device utilization capabilities on the daily life satisfaction of the disabled, focusing on the mediating effect of digital assistance. In modern society, the ability to use digital devices plays a crucial role and is particularly important for improving the quality of life of the disabled. However, the digital divide remains a significant issue, potentially leading to social exclusion of the disabled. To empirically analyze the impact of the ability to utilize digital devices on the daily satisfaction of the disabled, this study used the data of the "Digital Information Gap Survey in 2023" of the Korea Intelligent Information Society Research Institute. Based on this, the research model was verified through regression analysis and parameter validation. The results showed that higher digital device utilization capabilities correlate with increased daily life satisfaction among the disabled, and digital assistance mediates this relationship. These findings suggest the need for policy support and educational programs to help the disabled actively participate in the digital environment and improve their quality of life. Moreover, enhancing access to digital devices and utilizing digital assistance can contribute positively to forming social capital among the disabled, further supporting their social inclusion.
